Lewis Hamilton has announced the passing of his bulldog, Roscoe, who has been a prominent presence in the Formula 1 paddock. After several days of medical care, Hamilton described the decision to euthanize Roscoe as “one of the most painful experiences” he has endured in his life as a seven-time F1 champion. Last week, Hamilton missed tire testing to care for Roscoe, who had fallen into a coma due to pneumonia. Roscoe succumbed on Sunday evening, prompting Hamilton to express his heartache on Instagram.
“After four days on life support, I had to make the hardest decision of my life,” Hamilton shared. The 12-year-old bulldog was not just a pet but a cherished companion for Hamilton, who reminisced about the love they shared. Condolences flowed in from the F1 community, including a touching message from Ferrari and support from former teammate George Russell. The FIA also expressed its sadness over the news, reflecting the deep bond Hamilton and Roscoe shared.
