Life Scout Kendall Beard creates a storybook trail in historic Hadley Park

NASHVILLE, TN — Life Scout Kendall Beard has completed a storybook trail in Hadley Park featuring the book The Thing About Bees: A Love Letter,& for his Eagle Scout project. The book is authored by Nashville native Shabazz Larkin.
The ribbon cutting for the storybook trail will take place on Saturday, March 2 at 10 a.m. at Hadley Park in Nashville and will include a short program and light refreshments. The trail is free to the public during park hours.
Kendall Beard stands next to one of the 17 story boards he constructed for his Eagle Scout project in Hadley Park. The unveiling is scheduled for March 2.
A member of Troop 621, based at Lake Providence Missionary Baptist Church, Beard chose to do the storybook trail Scout project to encourage individuals and families to enjoy the outdoors while learning about the important contribution of bees to the ecosystem. The project, which took about 120 hours to complete, was partially funded by the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation.
