Lilly Endowment’s summer programs began this week in community centers around Indianapolis. Lilly Endowment Inc. is launching two multi-year initiatives to help K-12 public and private schools in Marion County to improve students’ academic achievements and prospects after high school.& The Endowment is allocating up to $600 million for these initiatives for more than 80 public school districts, private schools and networks and charter schools and networks.& & All school districts and networks are eligible to apply for planning, implementation and competitive grants under three phases within their initiatives. Eligible applicants total more than 300 schools in Marion County.& Phase 1 will be available to support applicants in the planning stage for phase 2, the implementation proposal for programs or projects aimed to improve student success. Applicants will have the opportunity to compete for larger grants in phase 3.
