In the initial seven months of the Access to Counsel Limited Representation Pilot Program, funded by the City of Cincinnati, more than 80% of eviction cases pursued to a conclusion have been dismissed. Launched in September 2024, the program provides tenants with same-day legal representation during first cause eviction hearings, with Attorney Shannon Price facilitating 473 appearances for over 200 clients. Price engages with clients and negotiates with housing providers, ensuring all parties comprehend their rights. Tenants can also access rental assistance via the United Way of Greater Cincinnati. Recently, the Hamilton County Clerk of Courts Help Center announced a $100,000 grant to sustain the initiative through 2026. Clerk Pavan Parikh highlighted the program's significant positive impact on the community, reflecting a collaborative effort to combat the eviction crisis.
