COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)–In today’s look at Local Living, the Columbia Black Expo kicks off this Saturday.
It’s from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the state fairgrounds.
There will be exhibitions, products from several Black owned businesses and more.
You can also try several dishes at the Taste of the Black Expo this Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Columbia Museum of Art.
That state museum is hosting a special event to honor Black culinary traditions in South Carolina.
Rising Culinary Artist Amethyst Ganaway will prepare samples and talk about the importance of tradition.
The event takes place Saturday, May 18, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Tickets are $50 for the general public and $40 for members.
The Columbia VA Health Care System is hosting its 14th annual 2K event for homeless veterans this Friday.
It’s from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Dorn VA Clinic.
And from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Sumter Va Clinic.
Event organizers say they’re collecting several items for homeless veterans including t-shirts, toothbrushes, toothpaste and more.
