(Photos: YouTube Screenshots) - The Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms (MADA) vehemently condemns the assassination of six journalists by the Israeli government. MADA declares, “strongly condemns, in the harshest terms, the horrific crime perpetrated by Israeli forces targeting the journalists’ tent situated near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. The assault led to the deaths of Al Jazeera's news crew and several others who were endeavoring to report and share the truth globally.” The deceased journalists include Anas al-Sharif, Mohammed Qreiqeh, Ibrahim Zaher, Moamen Aliwa, Mohammed Noufal, and Mohammad al-Khaldi. MADA also reported injuries to journalists Ahmad Al-Harazin, Mohammad Qeita, and Mohammad Sobeh from the targeted attack. As per MADA, the toll of journalists killed this year has surged to 64, while the total since the onset of violence in Gaza stands at 280. MADA asserts that these acts reveal a systematic policy by the Israeli government aimed at suppressing Palestinian journalism and charges that these attacks contravene international law, warranting accountability and immediate protective measures from the global community.
