The nation finds itself in turmoil, as reflected in the latest Quinnipiac University national poll, revealing that 79 percent of voters perceive the United States to be experiencing a political crisis, underscored by the recent assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.This alarming sentiment spans party lines, with 93 percent of Democrats, 84 percent of independents, and 60 percent of Republicans agreeing that the country is on a downward spiral. Quinnipiac’s Tim Malloy noted, “The Kirk assassination highlights pressing bipartisan anxieties about our national trajectory.” Furthermore, 71 percent of voters classify politically motivated violence as a “very serious” issue, escalating from 54 percent in June.
