Steve Haney, the experienced attorney representing Beasley, informed ESPN earlier this summer that his client is no longer a target of a federal inquiry concerning gambling activities during the offseason. This investigation previously led to a lifetime ban for former NBA player Jontay Porter. Shams Charania of ESPN noted that Beasley was on the verge of re-signing with the Pistons for a lucrative three-year deal valued at $42 million when the FBI investigation came to light. Following this revelation, the offer has since been retracted. The league's inquiry is reportedly nearing conclusion; however, it remains unclear how Beasley may be penalized, if at all, regarding the gambling accusations. Last season, Beasley showcased his skills, averaging 16.3 points per game and shooting 43%, including an impressive 41.6% from beyond the arc.
