A woman from Maryland faces felony child abuse charges following an incident aboard a flight where a child referred to her as "fat" and likened her to the Muppet character "Miss Piggy." Kristy Crampton was charged on Memorial Day after returning from a family vacation in Disney World, per an arrest report obtained by WFTV. Seated next to the child on a flight from Orlando-Sanford International Airport to Hagerstown, Crampton allegedly became violent after the child remarked she couldn't fit in her seat. Witnesses reported she began hitting the child and struck him with a water bottle, even slamming his head against the window. Though the pilot called police regarding the disturbance, Crampton and her group had already exited the plane. After her arrest, she claimed the child had been disrespectful. Police observed that her actions exceeded reasonable discipline, with a witness asserting it constituted abuse. Crampton was released on a $10,000 bond and has been ordered to avoid contact with the child.
