Welding's popularity is on the rise, especially among high school students intrigued by the prospect of earning $20+ per hour in the Pittsburgh region. This spring, students from five schools, including Passport Academy, received practical welding instruction at the IAW in Hazelwood. Principal Joe Oliphant highlighted the significance of this vocational skill, emphasizing career readiness and the benefits of not requiring a college degree.
