NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Mayor Freddie O’Connell has appointed Phyllis Hildreth as the inaugural director of Nashville’s newly formed Office of Youth Safety, established through the Fiscal Year 2025 budget and detailed in Executive Order 53. Hildreth’s extensive experience includes roles in education and juvenile justice, enriching her understanding of youth support systems. Previously serving as Chief of Staff at American Baptist College and with significant legal experience, she has advocated for community engagement and conflict resolution.
