Mayor Deb Whitfield has unveiled the Housing Ready Task Force, aimed at tackling Lawrence's housing difficulties and paving a sustainable future. This initiative stems from her vision shared during the State of the City Address on April 23, emphasizing the need for a housing-ready community.The diverse Task Force comprises Lawrence City Council members Liz Masur and Tyrrell Giles, housing expert Alison Cole, MIBOR's Lacey Everett, Realtor Judy Dages, and Interim Public Works director Renea Rafala as an ex-officio member. Jim Perron will coordinate efforts.
