Hansen | OBSERVER Staff ReporterAssemblymember Kevin McCarty leads Dr. Flojaune Cofer by 10 points in the race for Sacramento’s next mayor.As of 2 a.m. Wednesday with approximately 32% of ballots counted, McCarty leads 55% to Cofer’s 45%. McCarty has received more than 46,000 votes and Cofer about 37,500, according to county election results.“The night’s still young, but we’re here,” McCarty told several hundred supporters at Cafeteria 15L in downtown Sacramento, including labor union leaders, law enforcement, and city officials. “It took all of you,” McCarty said.
