Memphis City Council Greenlights Expansion of Early Childhood Education Programs

Memphis City Council unanimously passed a joint ordinance to broaden pre-K programs to encompass all 3-year-olds. “Currently, it only serves 4-year-olds. We aim to include 3-year-olds and support families of all income levels,” stated Kandace Thomas, executive director of First 8 Memphis, a nonprofit aiding Memphis-Shelby County.
