Metro Council Women’s Caucus and the Tennessee Women’s Political Caucus Host Reception Honoring Anna Eleanor Fierst, Great Granddaughter of Eleanor Roosevelt

NASHVILLE, TN, August 26, 2024 – Councilmember At Large Zulfat Suara, in partnership with the Metro Women’s Caucus and the Tennessee Women’s Political Caucus, is honored to host a special reception for Ms. Anna Eleanor Fierst, the great-granddaughter of former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. Ms. Fierst is a distinguished leader, serving as the board chair of the Roosevelt Center, an organization dedicated to preserving the legacy and advancing the ideals of her renowned great-grandmother. The event will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the Hermitage Hotel in Nashville. The reception will be from 5-6:30 PM. During her visit to Nashville, Ms. Fierst will also be joining Dr. Hildreth and Meharry leaders in welcoming a special delegation from SMU South Africa for a historic collaboration between the 2 colleges. Councilmember Suara expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating that Anna Eleanor Fierst represents a living connection to one of the most influential figures in American history, and her work at the Roosevelt Center continues the mission of social justice and human rights that Eleanor Roosevelt championed.
