NASHVILLE, TN — Trustee Erica S. Gilmore and the Office of the Metropolitan Trustee are taking proactive steps to help residents of Nashville and Davidson County take advantage of the higher Property Tax Freeze program. Starting July 2024, the qualifying income limit for the Property Tax Freeze program will increase from $47,750 to $ 60,000, allowing more residents ages 65 and older to freeze their property tax payment amounts. In light of the pressing issues of gentrification and rising living costs, Trustee Gilmore has scheduled this year’ s Tax Freeze & Tax Relief Sign- Up Events one month earlier than usual. These early pre- enrollment events aim to maximize the number of residents enrolled before the statewide registration opens on July 24. By preregistering applicants, the Trustee’ s Office ensures that those who register early will be signed up as soon as the programs officially open July 24 th, providing critical relief ahead of the 2025 property reappraisal year.
