Janet Museveni while addressing a Mother’s Union convention recently urged mothers to pack for their children milk, eggs and porridge as school snacks depending on what one can afford. This is echoed by the International Dairy Federation (IDF), 2020 Publication that suggests various benefits of adding milk to school programs including improved nutrient intake, better bone health, enhanced cognitive development, improved academic performance, reduced risk of chronic diseases, promotion of healthy eating habits and reduced tooth decay among others. Studies show that good nutrition is the foundation of health and wellness for children, and milk is a crucial part of a healthy diet. Dairy products play a critical role in the diet of children, topping as a great source of calcium, phosphorous, potassium and Vitamin D. Vincent Omoth, Marketing Manager Fresh Dairy said, “In a bid to give parents more access to our dairy products, Fresh Dairy using one of our flagship brands – flavoured milk has announced a 19% discount this back-to-school season lasting till 15th October 2024, accessible countrywide, at a store nearest to you.”...
