Nashville General Hospital Celebrates 135 Years of Dedicated Healthcare Excellence

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nashville General Hospital (NGH) marked its 135th anniversary on April 23, 2025. To commemorate this significant occasion, Board Chair Dr. Raymond Martin revealed Mayor Freddie O’Connell’s proclamation designating the day as “Nashville General Hospital Day” during the April 24 Hospital Authority meeting. Founded in 1890, NGH remains a pivotal safety-net institution providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare to all. Essential decisions were made, including the unanimous appointment of Dr. Veronica Elders as Interim CEO and the approval of KPMG for operational enhancements.
