North Carolina Central University, a historically Black institution in Durham, has established a new bachelor’s degree program in formulations and packaging science. The new degree program will teach students about formulating quality products to address health disparities and packaging products for delivery to rural or marginalized communities. The curriculum will include courses from a wide range of multidisciplinary fields such as clinical testing, chemistry, manufacturing, quality control, engineering, regulatory science, and marketing. Housed within the College of Health and Sciences, the degree program will draw from the expertise of faculty in several departments across the university. The bachelor’s degree in formulations and packaging science will be available beginning in fall 2025.
