A Florida woman, Ariel Barner, claims she's facing discrimination from her homeowners' association (HOA) after a neighbor complained about her son, Owen, playing on a community magnolia tree. As a single mother of five, Barner recently acquired her first home in Orange County, and now she confronts a legal notice alleging her 5-year-old child breached community regulations by swinging from the tree at his bus stop.The HOA asserts that such activities qualify as nuisances, despite typically reserving violations for loud parties or excessive parking issues. Barner contends that this complaint reflects racial prejudice, as its instigator is a white neighbor and HOA leader who chronicled her son’s innocent play without evidence of damage.Determined to fight back, Barner shared her story on social media and garnered support from local residents.
