A “No Kings Day” March and Rally aimed at opposing the Trump administration's policies is set for Saturday, June 14, 2025. The event will commence at 11:00 AM near the Lincoln Statue on 12 Springfield Avenue, Newark, New Jersey. Sponsored by the New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice, the People’s Organization for Progress (POP), the American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey, and Make The Road New Jersey, the rally also receives backing from allies who participated in the recent Martin Luther King People's Convention for Justice and Resistance, which represented a coalition of 287 organizations.
This Newark demonstration is among approximately 2,000 protests planned nationwide, with participation from various organizations such as Indivisible and ACLU. These gatherings aim to challenge not only Trump’s policies but also a military parade coinciding with his birthday. Lawrence Hamm, chairman of POP, asserted, “We are advocating for democracy, not dictatorship,” denouncing Trump's actions as reaffirmations of an attempted coup.
