Historically Black North Carolina A&T State University has partnered with the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy to create a pathway program for NCAT students to pursue a doctoral degree in pharmacy. The Early Assurance Program will provide students interested in pursuing a doctorate in pharmacy with the opportunity for assured admission to the Eshelman School of Pharmacy. The process will begin with the A&T Pre-Professional Scholars Program Office, who will select students to apply for the new pathway program. Once selected, students will begin the recruitment process with the Eshelman School of Pharmacy, which involves an interview and formal application process prior to admission. The first cohort of the Early Assurance Program will apply in the upcoming fall 2024 semester. The selected students will participate in the University of North Carolina recruitment process in the following Spring 2025 semester.
