Northwest Local School District Celebrates the Achievement of 70 AP Scholars

Northwest Local School District proudly announces that 70 students have achieved the esteemed designation of AP Scholar in 2025. This accolade, bestowed by the College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) Program, recognizes students who exhibit remarkable performance across several AP Exams.This year’s achievements include:- 42 AP Scholars, earning scores of 3 or above on at least three AP Exams.- 6 AP Scholars with Honor, maintaining an average of at least 3.25 across all exams and scoring 3 or higher on four or more tests.- 22 AP Scholars with Distinction, averaging a minimum of 3.5 and achieving scores of 3 or above on five or more exams.Matching last year's impressive record of 70 AP Scholars, there was a significant rise in Scholars with Distinction, increasing from 14 to 22. This accomplishment underscores a continuing trend from 2023, when 44 students were honored.The school district has enhanced its AP offerings, now providing additional courses and fostering earlier access for younger students. As stated by Brenda Miller, Director of Curriculum, the increase in awards reflects students’ successful engagement with demanding college-level materials.
