Clinic adds new services to multispecialty care location
Novant Health Today’s Adult Primary Care will open the first week of June at the corner of Today’s Woman Avenue and Burton Street in Winston-Salem. If this location sounds familiar, it’s because a well-attended groundbreaking ceremony was held on the lawn of this corner last year to announce the addition of the new clinic and the planned expansion of Novant Health Today’s Woman OB/GYN and Novant Health Today’s Pediatrics, two clinics that have faithfully served patients in the surrounding community for decades.
Fast forward 11 months and you’ll find that another large crowd of excited community members, city officials and Novant Health team members came together earlier today to celebrate the now three-in-one care location.
It all started with an idea 29 years ago. Dr. Larry Hopkins, Mazie Woodruff, an influential community leader and elected official, and Paul Wiles, former CEO of Carolina Medicorp (now Novant Health), recognized a medical provider shortage area in east Forsyth County, specifically in the 27105 ZIP code.
