Dorothy Evans Lee was born on June 30, 1926, in Morris County, Texas, to the parentage of the late Mr. Perry Evans Sr. and Mrs. Etta Turner Evans.  She departed this earthly life on July 17, 2024. One of eight children, Dorothy graduated from Dangerfield High School in Dangerfield, Texas.  She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Jarvis Christian College.  After graduating, she began working as a Teacher at Dangerfield Elementary School.  Thereafter, she was a Teacher at Ferris Elementary School, then a Teacher at David Crockett Early Education School, and retired from J. N. Ervin Elementary School.   She dedicated over 40 years of service to education and retired from the Dallas Independent School District. During her years of service as an educator, she earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Prairie View A&M University.  As an educator, Mrs. Lee was repeatedly recognized as Teacher of the Year, influencing the lives of thousands of school children.
