Financial Support: Olympic Committee Allocates $125K to Five Members

The Saint Lucia Olympic Committee (SLOC) awarded in excess of $125,000 to five member federations on Wednesday to bolster athlete training, event execution, and administrative requirements. The SLOC president, Alfred Emmanuel, officiated the presentations during a concise ceremony at Olympic House. The recipients included the Sailing Association, Athletics Association, Volleyball Association, Table Tennis Association, and Shooting Association.The Sailing Association, represented by president Franck Chevrier, was allocated funds to aid two-time Olympian Luc Chevrier, with approximately $2,700 per month designated from January to August 2025, amounting to $21,735.20. Additionally, an extra $30,000 is provided for competitive preparations, totaling $52,557.10 for the Sailing Association.Under president Dora Henry, the Athletics Association received $29,300 for the upcoming PUMA National Individual Track & Field Championships in Soufriere. Reimbursements also covered expenses for Table Tennis and the Volleyball Federation, which secured $13,350 for a recent beach competition. The shooting sport will receive $15,000 for events and administration. Since March, the SLOC has allocated over $250,000 to its affiliates, with further support for women's rugby and men's 3×3 basketball planned.
