Mixed-Media Magic: Local Artist Featured in One Contemporary’s Solo Opening

On July 25, Atlanta's One Contemporary Gallery unveiled its inaugural solo exhibition featuring local artist Brill Adium, aptly titled “Finding My Rhythm.” Adium, an Atlanta transplant from Orlando, presented a captivating array of mixed-media pieces reminiscent of a carefully curated mixtape, rich with thematic variety. During the event, he urged attendees to engage in dialogue through art, stating, “I want people to question the art.” Gallery owner Faron Manuel was captivated by Adium’s emotionally resonant work that incorporates unique techniques like woodworking and assemblage. The show’s title emerged from a candid discussion, encapsulating Adium's artistic journey.With roots in Andalusia, Alabama, Adium reflected on his childhood drawing as a therapeutic escape. He emphasizes his versatility beyond painting, showcasing handmade frames that complement his artworks.
