One Man Dead, Another Injured In Gros Islet Shootings

Saint Lucia’s homicide toll so far in 2024 increased to 32 with the fatal shooting of a man in his twenties at Grande Riviere, Gros Islet. Another man sustained gunshot injuries hours earlier in a separate incident. Police have identified the deceased as Kervon Adonis, 25, also known as Schoolie. Emergency responders from the Gros Islet Fire Station responded at about 4:25 am Thursday and found the victim with no vital signs at the back of a house. Police reported having formally charged Kervon Adonis and three other men in November last year for firearm and ammunition possession. On Friday, November 17, 2023, the men appeared in court and received $20,000 cash bail with suitable surety and/or land documents on the firearm possession charge. They also received $15,000 cash bail with suitable surety and/ or land documents. In addition to the Kervon Adonis homicide, police are investigating a shooting incident at Piat, Grande Riviere, Gros Islet.  The Babonneau Fire Station responded on Wednesday at about 9:50 pm and transported a male to a medical facility.
