One Person In Custody After Marchand Double Homicide

A ‘person of interest’ is in police custody following Saturday’s Marchand, Castries double homicide. The disclosure came Thursday from Deputy Police Commissioner Ronald Phillip who said officers are actively investigating the killings. Twenty-year-old Thaddeus Denis, alias “Coco Boy” of Black Mallet, Castries, and Evitus Lynch Junior, alias “Red Boy” of Black Mallet, Castries sustained fatal gunshot injuries along Marchand Road. A probe is also underway into another double homicide that occurred at Rodney Bay on Sunday. Investigators identified the victims as Grass Street, Castries residents twenty-three-year-old Sharma Martin and twenty-five-year-old Walter Hofer alias “White Boy.” Their bodies were in a white Toyota saloon car, both showing signs of apparent gunshot wounds. In addition, on Friday, a police officer fatally shot a masked man who was one of two males involved in a home invasion at the cop’s residence in Augier, Vieux Fort. The other male escaped on foot. As a result, Saint Lucia recorded five homicides within three days. “We are concerned with the number of firearms being used to commit offences,” Deputy Commissioner Phillip stated.
