A female pedestrian sustained injuries when a vehicle struck her in Gros Islet on Tuesday. The incident occurred on St. George Street. After learning of the collision, the Gros Islet Fire Station dispatched an emergency crew at about 5:12 pm. However, on arrival, the emergency responders heard that the victim, believed to be in her forties, had already been conveyed to a medical facility. The circumstances surrounding the collision were not immediately apparent. It was the latest in a spate of recent road incidents the country has been experiencing. A female pedestrian sustained injuries when a vehicle hit her on Clarke Street, Vieux Fort, last week. After the incident, the 21-year-old victim complained of pain in her lower extremities. However, the injuries were deemed to be non-life-threatening. So far, in 2024, six people have died as a result of road incidents, despite appeals from the  authorities for road users to exercise caution.
