A lone sheriff’s deputy positioned at the entrance was not there to manage throngs but rather to convey the unfortunate news that the “Boots on the Ground Line Dance Competition” had been called off.This unexpected cancellation occurred less than a day prior to the event, following weeks of deliberation between organizer Troy Reddin and county officials. Reddin, a resident of Palm Coast and an ex-rapper, had imagined a welcoming dance gathering inspired by the popular track "Boots on the Ground." However, escalating concerns about the event’s trajectory emerged, particularly regarding trail rides and alcohol consumption.Deputy County Administrator Jorge Salinas stepped in, pointing out inconsistencies in Reddin's promotions.
