On Monday, March 11, 2024, The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) participated in a comprehensive (High Value Target workshop) aimed at enhancing the skills of our officers in identifying priority targets using advanced methodologies. This intensive workshop equipped participants with the tools and knowledge necessary to effectively combat crime and maintain public safety. This course was held at the Police Force Academy, and culminated with a closing ceremony on Thursday, March 14, 2024. This workshop was facilitated by personnel from the Office of Anti-Narcotics Bureau (OFAST); Intelligence Unit in the Caribbean and Spain. Seventeen (17) law enforcement officers, including three (3) members of the Saint Lucia Customs and Excise Department benefited from this workshop. Participants delved into threat assessment techniques, gained an understanding of the dynamics of criminal activities, and identified potential threats within our communities. The session also covered effective target screening methods. A critical aspect of law enforcement involved safeguarding high-value targets. Officers learned vigilance methodologies specific to handling such cases. Practical exercises followed classroom instruction, allowing participants to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios.
