High school students from various regions gathered to envision their potential futures in healthcare during Dentistry Day at Southern Illinois University’s School of Dental Medicine. This comprehensive event, part of the BESt Healthcare Institute’s 2025 summer initiative, integrated engaging activities and expert-led discussions to immerse teens from diverse backgrounds in the fields of medicine and dentistry. The four-week program, in collaboration with Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Express Scripts, Inc., and Washington University in St. Louis, aimed to inspire future medical professionals. Dr. Nathalia Garcia emphasized providing enriching experiences that showcase the dental health career's rewarding nature, while students found validation through peer testimonials and mentorship.
