‘Put Down The Guns’ – Family Reacts After Barre Denis Homicide

Family members of Barre Denis homicide victim Troy Albert say it is time for the fatal shootings in Saint Lucia to stop. “Put down the guns,” was their advice. A female family member described the deceased as a good person and recalled that a male cousin had been shot dead last month in the same community. The funeral for that deceased has not yet taken place. “Put the guns down and start praying,” she told reporters. A male family member agreed. “It’s about time dem fellas put down the guns. It not worth it,” he asserted, adding that the deceased was ‘nice with everybody’ and he could not think of a reason for the fatal shooting. He said he knew of no issues the fatal shooting victim had with anyone. According to the male family member, 35-year-old Troy Albert was the father of two girls. He said Albert’s death was a hard blow.
