Voting this election is very important. So much so that Art and Cynthia Baldwin, both McKeesport residents, are hosting a “Rally in the Valley” on Saturday, Sept. 7, from noon to 3 p.m., at Noah’s Ark Community Center, 200 6th Street, McKeesport. “Our intent is to reach as many churches, organizations, and individuals in every community in the Mon Valley (Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties) to provide voter education, voter registration and to excite the public about voting,” Art Baldwin told the New Pittsburgh Courier on Aug. 30. The non-partisan event will give candidates, elected officials or representatives of elected officials/candidates a chance to address those in attendance. Art Baldwin said the event would have some free merchandise for some of the attendees, the ability to register to vote, and more fun surprises. The event is free and open to the public.
