Rangers Back on Duty: Safeguarding Beaches, Parks, and Tourist Areas

Forty-three specially trained police constables have officially joined the revitalized Rangers Unit. As reported by the Prime Minister's Office, these officers, instructed by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, aim to bolster security in vital tourist zones, safeguard communities, and elevate visitor experiences. Their responsibilities encompass regulating beach vending, curbing illegal sand extraction, protecting turtle nesting sites, and nurturing the island’s ecosystems. Irvin Mason, ex-member of the Special Services Unit, will guide this essential team. Minister Dr. Ernest Hilaire championed them as vital tourism ambassadors.
