Rashee Rice, a standout wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, has accepted a six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. This sanction is set to commence with the start of the upcoming season. On Wednesday, ahead of the Chiefs’ face-off against the Las Vegas Raiders on October 19, the NFL confirmed that Rice would be reinstated in Week 7 following a scheduled disciplinary hearing on September 30. In July, Rice received a 30-day incarceration sentence and five years of probation after a multicar accident in Dallas during the 2024 offseason, which resulted in injuries to several individuals. The NFL's ban follows its internal investigation, which Rice will not challenge, rendering the September 30 hearing before former federal judge Sue L. Robinson moot. The 25-year-old Rice pleaded guilty to two felony counts of racing on a highway that led to bodily harm. If he successfully completes probation, the charges will be dismissed. Besides missing the Chiefs’ season opener against the Chargers in Brazil on September 5, Rice will also be absent from the Super Bowl rematch against the Eagles on September 14 and their game against the Giants on Sunday night.
