Recognizing the Achievements: Titles Earned By Saint Lucian Chess Champions

Saint Lucia proudly celebrates the recent titles of Candidate Masters Dr. Sixtus Gabriel and Justin James, bestowed during the 2025 Subzone 2.3.3 Absolute & Women Chess Championships. This week-long event, a FIDE World Cup qualifier, unfolded at the Cascadia Hotel in Trinidad & Tobago over Easter. Gabriel advanced 11 rankings to finish 26th, while James rose to 41st. Meanwhile, Woman Candidate Master Chelsea Wahid, after a fierce battle, secured a tie for fourth. Sports Minister Kenson Casimir hailed the organizer's exemplary execution of the tournament.
