Republican National Convention Day 1: Protests and proclamations

A rally took place just a few miles form where former U.S. President Donald J. Trump and Ohio Senator J.D. Vance accepted nominations from the Republican Party on day one of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Trump was receiving an overwhelming nod from the Republican National Committee during the official roll call of the states and his vice president selection, Republican Senator J.D. Vance (Ohio) earned a unanimous nomination from the party hundreds of protesters filled Red Arrow Park in downtown Milwaukee. Located just two miles from Fiserv Forum where the Republican National Convention began the first day of a four-day quadrennial celebration of Republican politics and ideals, the protest was hosted by the Coalition to March on the RNC. Over 100 organizations signed up to attend and speak during the rally, according to Coalition leaders.
