Prosecutors have charged two teenagers from California with murder following the death of a 66-year-old man, Davy Glen Pichel, who was allegedly killed while asleep outside a church. The Ventura County District Attorney's Office has accused the boys, aged 14 and 15, of involvement in the brutal incident on June 4.
On June 5, a volunteer from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Oxnard discovered Pichel’s body outside the facility. Emergency personnel pronounced him dead upon arrival. Surveillance footage captured the tragic events, showing the teens attacking Pichel near his wheelchair, brutally beating and stomping him. Disturbingly, the teens briefly left the scene only to return multiple times for further assaults.
Following a thorough investigation, local police were alerted by the church volunteer about Pichel's partially unclothed body, exhibiting severe injuries. The minors are currently held at a juvenile facility and face charges in juvenile court, with court proceedings postponed until June 24.
