ATLANTA — Rev. Dr. Jamal Bryant, the pastor of a prominent Georgia megachurch, has escalated a previous 40-day boycott of Target into a full-fledged protest. He asserts that the retailer must adhere to demands for reinstating diversity, equity, and inclusion commitments, as well as financially supporting Black-owned enterprises.
Target's recent decision to curtail certain DEI programs, especially those aiding Black employees, has sparked widespread criticism. Bryant emphasized, “Silence and delay are no longer acceptable. Our righteous demands are overdue.” Target has reiterated its commitment to creating an inclusive environment for its diverse community.
