In a significant milestone indicating a transformative era for one of the oldest Black denominations in the United States, Rev. Dr. Valerie Thompson has been appointed as the chief of staff for the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. (NBC). This crucial appointment symbolizes a meaningful advancement toward inclusivity, led by the recently elected president, Rev. Dr. Boise Kimber, who is dedicated to promoting women and younger clergy into essential leadership roles. “Her vast spiritual foundation, administrative acumen, and pastoral wisdom will bolster the Convention’s ministry efforts,” Kimber noted.
