A cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) system has been developed to analyze images from a routine cardiac examination and identify early indications of tricuspid heart valve disease. Research from the Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai indicates that this technology could enable clinicians to diagnose and address issues more promptly. Building on previous findings regarding mitral valve assessment via ultrasound, this latest study, featured in JAMA Cardiology, focuses on detecting tricuspid regurgitation—a disorder where the tricuspid valve fails to close properly, potentially leading to heart failure.
