The New Pittsburgh Courier reports that Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church will commemorate its 140th anniversary on Sunday, May 18, at 9 a.m. After 24 years of dedicated service, Pastor Delano R. Paige retired in 2008, leading to the installation of Rev. Dr. Darryl T. Canady in 2010. Pastor Canady has championed the Community of Hope Vision, aiming to enhance the lives of both church members and the surrounding community by addressing spiritual needs, promoting physical activities, and providing educational support. His six strategic pillars encompass health, education, social engagement, economic development, and wellness. Moreover, he launched the LIFE Male STEAM Academy for boys’ academic and career advancement, and revived initiatives for both men and women to foster community empowerment. Under his leadership, over 2,500 individuals have joined Rodman’s community. For more details, visit: Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church, 6111 Rodman St., East Liberty. The LIFE Male STEAM Academy will host a “Motown Revue Concert” on Saturday, May 17, at 5 pm..
