Local Producers Welcome Sacramento’s Continued Push To Back The Film Sector

The City of Sacramento’s Film + Media Office is currently inviting applications for its film grant, aimed at nurturing and promoting growth in film and television production within the city. In its fifth iteration, this initiative is funded through Measure U resources.“This program remains a significant investment in Sacramento’s cinematic and media ecosystem,” expressed Sacramento Film Commissioner Jennifer West. “We are enthusiastic about backing projects that elevate our local industry and showcase the talents of Sacramento’s filmmakers.”Applications will be accepted until January 15, 2026, with six production grants of $10,000 and two post-production grants of $5,000 available across two rounds. The funds may assist with permit fees, safety personnel costs, and reimbursements for eligible production expenses incurred within Sacramento.Successful grant recipients have produced a wide array of storylines using diverse casts and crews, fulfilling the program's mission to bolster local filmmaking.
