The Government of Saint Lucia has kept its promise to bolster the Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS). The Philip J. Pierre administration delivered four new ambulances during a handover ceremony on Thursday. The ambulances will serve fire stations in Gros Islet, Castries, Micoud, and Vieux Fort, for enhanced emergency response capabilities across the island. Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre, who was present at the ceremony, emphasised the government’s commitment to supporting the SLFS. “Today we handed over four new ambulances to the Saint Lucia Fire Service, which will be distributed to key stations across the island,” Pierre stated in his Facebook Post. He further expressed gratitude to the dedicated men and women of the SLFS, adding that additional equipment has been ordered and expected to be delivered in the coming months. The move is part of a broader plan to improve the capacity and morale of the SLFS.
