The government of Saint Lucia has alerted people to a phone scam involving individuals claiming to represent the administration. According to a government advisory, the scammers may ask for a code to join a group chat. “These callers may also ask for personal information to scam unsuspecting citizens. These calls are not coming from members of this group,” the advisory stated. It said the Government of Saint Lucia will never issue a group call, request codes, or sensitive information such as bank details, passwords, or personal identification numbers over the phone. “Do not share any information with unknown callers. If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately. Your safety and security are our priority. Stay vigilant!” The government advisory stated.
