Defending boys and girls champions Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC) are into the semifinals of the 2025 Under-19 Schools’ Volleyball Tournament after wins in their final preliminary matches this week.  Micoud Secondary School (MSS) boys and girls also advanced to the penultimate round of this year’s competition after games on Tuesday at the Vigie Multipurpose Sports Commplex. In girls’ play, SALCC defeated Beanefield Comprehensive Secondary School (BCSS) in straight sets 2-0 (25-17, 25-13). MSS overcame Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary School (LHCSS) in a thriller.  After losing the first set 26-24, MSS roared back to clinch the next two sets 22-25 and 10-15, securing their spot in the semis. SALCC boys also had a straightforward outing against BCSS, winning 2-0 (25-4, 25-7). Like their girls, MSS boys had a nail-biting encounter against LHCSS.  After losing the first set 25-21, MSS rallied to win the second set 25-22 and clinched the victory in a thrilling final set 18-16, with their girls’ team cheering them on to the finish.
