The youth of the Bocage Seventh-day Adventist Church are organising a walk for a worthy cause. This event, scheduled for December 15, will not only promote fitness but also serve as a fundraiser for 29-year-old Rica Pierre.
Rica has been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease, and her condition has become critical, requiring her to seek further medical treatment abroad. However, the overwhelming financial burden of these treatments has left her in urgent need of assistance.
According to a statement from the church’s youth department, the group aims to garner support not only from the church community but also from the wider society.
“Apart from raising awareness and funds to assist Rica with her expenses, the Youth Department of the Bocage SDA Church wanted to engage the community, our society, and the nation at large in an activity that families can enjoy together in a meaningful and holistic way.
We hope people will come out to spend time with friends and family while contributing to Rica’s medical expenses. This is an opportunity to have fun while making a positive impact on the life of a young woman fighting for her life.”
