The Detroit Lions closed out a thrilling back-and-forth game against the Green Bay Packers at Ford Field on Thursday, Dec. 5, with a game-winning field goal by kicker Jake Bates. The win officially clinched a playoff berth and kept the Lions atop the NFC North, pushing their record to a franchise-best 12-1 record through 13 games. The win also gave them sole possession of the NFL’s best record, moving ahead of the 11-1 Kansas City Chiefs.
